Rain has affected the Nigeria U19 Women’s cricket team at the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Malaysia after their first game against England at the Super Six stage was abandoned on Saturday.
The Nigerian team must now defeat Ireland on Wednesday to stand a chance of reaching the semi-final stage to join South Africa, India and Australia.
India have reached the last four with a gam to spare following a win over Bangladesh while Australia got the better of the West Indies to secure their spot in the semis also with a game to spare.
South Africa reached the semis earlier on with a thumping victory over Ireland in their first Super Six match, leaving one semi-final spot for England, Nigeria, New Zealand and the United States to fight for.
England are in the best position of the four and would get that spot if they get victory over New Zealand.
