A Nigerian, Oside Oluwole, has made his way to the Guinness World Records after continuously playing a football videogame for over three days. Oluwole’s feat far exceeds the previous record of 50 hours set by David Whitefoot in 2022.
Also known as “Khoded”, the Nigerian clocked an incredible time of 75 hours to set the record for the longest videogame marathon, playing Dream League Soccer 2023 on his iPhone which was connected to a TV screen.
“I really enjoyed myself playing for 75 hours straight with just some hours of rest. It wasn’t an easy task, but I must say it was all fun,” Oluwole said. He added, “It was such a great moment; the event was very interesting and I’m grateful to God that it was successful.”
Oluwole was allowed five minutes of rest time after each hour of gaming according to the Guinness World Records rules. It was only during these breaks he was also able to eat, take a nap or use the restroom.
A qualified biochemist currently working as a car dealer, 24-year-old Oluwole attempted the record to raise money for a local hospital in his hometown of Ijebu Ode in Ogun State.
