Draws for the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2025 has taken place in Brno, Czech Republic, with Nigeria’s U19 women’s basketball national team among the teams to learn their groups for the 16th edition of the competition.
The draws have pitted the 16 participating teams into four groups containing four teams each, with Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigress, making their World Cup debut, in Group B with Portugal, Canada, and China. Portugal are also making their debut.
Canada are the team with the most success in the group having claimed two bronze medals in 11 previous appearances, followed by the Chinese team with a bronze medal from 14 appearances.
All 16 teams participating in the event will advance to the competition’s Final Phase with a single-elimination format in place from the Round of 16 onwards.
The teams from Group A will face teams from Group B, based on standings within these groups (1st vs 4th – 2nd vs 3rd) and teams from Group C will face teams from Group D.
The 2025 U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup will take place from July 12 – 20 in Brno, Czech Republic. Check out the full results of the draws here:
