Chelsea have suffered a major setback as the season enters the business stage following news of striker, Nicolas Jackson, being ruled out for about six weeks due to injury.
The Senegal international picked up the injury during the Blues’ 2-1 victory over West Ham United on February 3rd and was initially downplayed by boss, Enzo Maresca. But Jackson’s absence from the FA Cup defeat at Brighton raised further concerns.
Now, a scan has revealed the true extent of Jackson’s injury and it is worse than first feared as it is stipulated that the former Villareal man will be out until the end of March at least.
Jackson’s absence leaves Chelsea short in attack as they prepare to face Brighton once again in the Premier League on Friday night, though Maresca could call on Christopher Nkunku to deputise upfront.
