Last season’s losing finalists, New York Liberty, got the revenge on two-time defending champs Las Vegas Aces and advance to the 2024 WNBA Finals thanks to a 76-62 win in Game 4 of the semi-final playoff series.
The Aces were looking to force a winner-takes-all Game 5 and had home-court for the clash against the Liberty that needed just one win to seal a place back in the finals having won the opening two games of this series.
It was the Liberty that started off stronger in Game 4, edging the first quarter 23-19. The Aces edged the battle in the following two quarters, however, as both teams headed into the final quarter just two points apart.

The Liberty controlled the fourth quarter to see off the reigning champs, led by point guard Sabrina Ionescu who finished with a game-high 22 points shooting 5 for 8 from beyond the arc.
Veteran Forward, Breanna Stewart, pitched in with 19 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists while Jonquel Jones finished with 14 points.
2024 MVP, A’ja Wilson, led for the Aces with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks in an effort that eventually proved futile on the night as only two other Aces players finished in double figures for points – Kelsey Plum with 17 and Tiffany Hayes with 11.
The Liberty now await the winner of the second playoff semi-final series between Connecticut Sun and Minnesota Lynx. Unlike the Aces, Connecticut were able to force Game 5 in their own series following a 92-82 win.
