French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes have reportedly rejected an opening bid of five million euros from newly-promoted outfit Paris FC for the services of Super Eagles winger Moses Simon.
The 29-year-old forward, who has one year left on his current contract with La Beaujoire, enjoyed a brilliant 2024-25 campaign where he scored eight goals and registered 10 assists in Ligue 1, which helped Les Canaris retain their status in the French top-flight.
Since his arrival from Spanish La Liga side Levante in the summer of 2020, Simon has become a fan favorite and an integral part of the club’s identity. Simon’s displays have seen him become the subject of interest from potential suitors, with speculation mounting over where he would be playing his football next season.
Premier League side Everton and fellow French outfits, Olympique Marseille and Rennes, were all reported to be monitoring his situation. However, Live Foot reported a while ago that the Nigerian international has decided not to play for any other French club out of respect for Nantes and his legacy at the club.
Despite moves made from Rennes, Marseille and Everton, Paris FC have submitted an offer for Simon worth around five million euros. The capital club, who are preparing for life in the elite division, believe that Simon would be the appropriate recruitment needed to safeguard their top-flight status at the first time of asking.
According to media outlet Ouest-France, “recently promoted Paris FC have submitted a €5m bid for the Nigeria international. That offer has been rejected, although it seems likely that the forward will still make a move this summer.”
It is believed that Nantes would be asking for more for the Nigerian, though they are not expected to play hard ball given the fact that the former Gent attacker could walk away for free if he decides to run down his existing deal with the team.
