A number of Nigerian players were in good form over the weekend across various leagues abroa. Let’s take a look at how the players performed for their respective clubs.

Christantus Uche

The 21-year-old forward grabbed an assist for Getafe to help his club get a 2-1 win at Las Palmas, a result that took Getafe up to 15th on the La Liga table, three points clear of the relegation zone and three points behind 14th placed Las Palmas.

Victor Osimhen

The highly sought striker also got an assist to help Galatasaray open the scoring in the 2-1 win over Istanbul Basaksehir and remain unbeaten at the top of the Turkish Super Lig after 18 matches played.

Anthony Nwakaeme

Also in the Turkish Super Lig, Nwakaeme put up a solid display before going off after 86 minutes as Trabzonspor eased to a 5-0 demolition of Antalyaspor in a match that saw defender Pedro Malheiro score a hat-trick while forward, Edin Visca, got a hat-trick of assists.

David Okereke

The Gaziantep of Turkey forward scored the only goal to earn a 1-0 win over Adana Demirspor in a Super Lig clash on Sunday. The goal is the 27-year-old’s fifth in the league this season.

Cyriel Dessers

The striker was a second-half substitute for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership match against St. Johnstone as the Gers claimed a 3-1 win to remain second on the log, 15 points behind Celtic.

Taiwo Awoniyi

Awoniyi featured in the FA Cup, playing 74 minutes for Nottingham Forest before being replaced by Chris Wood in the 2-0 win over Luton Town.

Paul Onuachu

The striker was a substitute for Southampton as the Saints saw off Swansea City 3-0 to reach the FA Cup fourth round.

Moses Simon

Simon played all 90 minutes for FC Nantes in a thrilling Ligue 1 clash at home to AS Monaco, with the visitors scoring two goals in seven minutes to cancel out Nantes’ 2-0 lead and earn a share of the spoils.
