Some of Nigerian top footballers were at it over the weekend, setting Europe alight with their goals and displays for their respective clubs.
Victor Osimhen
The highly sought striker scored his 25th league goal of the season to maintain his place at the top of the golden boot race in Turkey’s Super Lig.
Most of all, his goal helped the Turkish giants seal a 25th league title in a 3-0 win over Kayserispor at RAMS Park in Istanbul on Sunday.
Terem Moffi
Better late than never for Moffi after the striker scored his first league goal for Nice on the final match-day, coming off the bench in the 78th minute before scoring Nice’s fifth goal four minutes later in a 6-0 demolition of Brest.
The result ensured Nice edged Lille to book a spot in the Champions League playoffs next season.
Moses Simon
Simon made his 200th appearance for Nantes, scoring a goal and providing an assist in a 3-0 win over relegated Montpellier. The Super Eagles winger opened the scoring with an 18th minute penalty, while former Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin extended the lead just past the half-hour mark.
Simon went on to set up Matthis Abline with 10 minutes to go to seal the result, which secured Nantes Ligue 1 status for next season as the club finished just three points above Reims in the relegation playoff spot.
