Super Eagles boss, Eric Chelle, will be happy with the selection headache Nigerian stars are about to give him following their goalscoring performances across the top leagues over the weekend for their respective clubs.

Ademola Lookman

Reigning African Footballer of the Year, Lookman, pounced on a slip by Dusan Vlahovic to score Atalanta’s fourth in a resounding 4-0 demolition of Juventus in Turin.

The goal is Lookman’s 13th in Serie A this season. It was also his 50th goal since joining the Bergamo-based club.

Umar Sadiq

Sadiq scored his fourth goal in seven matches for Valencia, coming up with the winner 10 minutes into the second half to seal a 2-1 win over Real Valladolid in La Liga to make up for a handful of missed chances in the first half.

The win helps Valencia in their battle to avoid the drop as they occupy 16th spot with 27 points at the moment, just a point off the relegation zone.

Victor Osimhen

Galatasaray’s star striker rose highest to head home Baris Yilmaz’s pinpoint cross to seal a comeback 2-1 win for the Turkey Super Lig leaders, who played the second half at Alanyaspor with 10 men following Gunay Guvenc’s red card in first-half stoppage time.

Chidera Ejuke

The attacking mifieldler scored his first league goal of the season in the Spanish top flight to give Sevilla a crucial 1-0 win at Real Sociedad. Ejuke was set up by Saul and the Nigerian picked his spot in the bottom corner with a curling shot from just outside the Sociedad box.

Ejuke’s goal allowed Sevilla go above Umar Sadiq’s parent-club into 10th spot on the league standings with 36 points from 27 matches.

Christantus Uche

Getafe’s attacking midfielder played all 90 minutes as his club came from behind to claim an important 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid following a dramatic last 15 minutes at the Coliseum.

Alexander Sorloth put Atletico ahead from the penalty spot in the 75th minute, but things went downhill for the visitors as Angel Correa was sent off in the 87th minute.

Mauro Arambarri equalised for Getafe a minute later, before deflecting a Diego Rico shot beyond Jan Oblak for a dramatic winner in stoppage time.

Alex Iwobi

Iwobi showed his class by providing the assist for Fulham’s only goal in a thrilling match at the AMEX against Brighton in the Premier League. The Nigerian midfielder moved with the ball from the Fulham half before setting up Raul Jimenez with a well-struck cross for the opening goal.

Iwobi went off in the 89th minute with the game tied at 1-1, while compatriot Calvin Bassey was on the field as Brighton snatched the winner with a 98th minute penalty converted by Joao Pedro.

Victor Boniface

The striker was an unused substitute as Bayer Leverkusen fell to a shock 2-0 loss at home to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Saturday, as the German champions failed to take advantage of Bayern Munich also suffering a shock home loss to Bochum earlier on Saturday.
