Super Eagles and FC Nantes star Moses Simon’s terrific performances in the just-concluded 2024-25 Ligue 1 campaign has seen him emerge as the player with the most take-ons completed in the French top-flight, having recorded a total number of 65 after 34 rounds of matches.
The 29-year-old winger was an ever-present figure for Les Canaris over the course of the season, making 32 appearances for coach Antoine Kombouare’s side, scoring eight goals and adding 10 assists to his tally as Nantes finished in 13th position.
Simon was able to complete 65 take-ons in that time to lead the league ahead of Gaetan Perrin of Auxerre who finished the season with 60 successful take-ons, while Paris Saint-Germain’s Desire Doue is third on the list with 57 take-ons, level with Strasbourg left wing-back Diego Moreira.
Himad Abdelli of Angers also had 57 take-ons, while former Manchester United forward, Mason Greenwood, ended the season with 54 take-ons completed as he finished joint top scorer in the league with 21 goals along with PSG’s Ousmane Dembele.
Algerian forward Farid El Melali, who currently dons the colours of Angers, is seventh with 52 take-ons completed, while 23-year-old Brazilian Luis Henrique, also of Olympique Marseille, placed eighth with 51 take-ons completed.
