There is a Nigerian-born player who featured alongside Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and more for the Philadelphia Eagles as they saw off Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Sunday night and here, you will find out all you need to know about Moro Ojomo.

Born August 2001 in Lagos, Nigeria to a dad who would later start a church and a mother who worked in IT, Morotoluwa Ojomo moved to the United States with his parents when he was eight years old, initially living in California.

The Ojomo family moved to Texas soon after, with Moro attending Katy High School. He would eventually start playing football after his sophomore year, joining the school’s team as a junior and ending up earning All-district honours as a defensive linesman.

By the time he was a senior, Ojomo had started catching the eyes of the right people in the sport, leading to him being a unanimous first-team All-District selection. He was also named the defensive most valuable player of the district.

Ojomo enjoyed a five-year spell with Texas Longhorns in College, entering the NFL Draft in 2023 where he was selected (249th pick) by Philadelphia Eagles. Two years later, he’s won his first Super Bowl alongside the likes of Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley.
