Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has written his name in the history books after becoming the all-time leading African scorer in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Egyptian star got Liverpool going with the assist for Alexis Mac Allister’s 11th minute opener, then scored the history making goal as the Reds overcame Serie A side, Bologna, 2-0 at Anfield.
Salah’s goal, which came in the 75th minute, was his 45th in the Champions League, taking him one goal ahead of Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba, who scored 44 goals in the competition. Two-time treble winner, Samuel Eto’o, is now third on that all-time list.
