Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has been named the Football Writers’ Association Men’s Player of the Season for the 2024-25 campaign, marking the third time he has won the prize after his wins in 2018 and 2022.

The 32-year-old Egyptian, who recently put pen to paper on a new two-year contract with Liverpool, is the leading top scorer in the ongoing Premier League campaign with 28 goals and has provided 18 assists to help the Reds win the top-flight title.

Salah also scored three goals and added four assists as Liverpool reached the round-of-16 of the UEFA Champions League.

He claimed 90% of the votes cast by over 900 FWA members, to win the award ahead of teammate Virgil van Dijk while Newcastle striker Alexander Isak and Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice placed third and fourth respectively.

Salah joins Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, as the only players to win the award on three separate occasions.
