Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Ethan Nwaneri’s injury is “bad news”, after the youngster was subbed off at half-time of the Premier League match against Brighton and Hove Albion.
The 17-year-old, who scored in the 16th minute of the Gunners’ 1-1 draw with the Seagulls, was forced off due to what Arteta later described as a muscular issue.
Speaking to BBC’s Match of the Day, Arteta said: “It’s really bad news because I think we’ve lost him. We had to take him off at half-time with some muscular problems.”
Nwaneri has been a vital component of Arsenal’s attacking lineup in recent games following Bukayo Saka’s hamstring injury which has ruled the latter out for months, scoring five goals in all competitions this season.
