Former Chelsea and Ghanaian football star, Michael Essien, has completed his UEFA certificate in football management in a step towards starting a coaching career following a successful one the pitch.
The 41-year-old revealed this when expressing his gratitude and excitement at getting the certificate. “Finally done with my UEFA certificate in football management journey. Thanks all for the help. I keep learning about the beautiful game,” Essien wrote on social media.
The ex-Real Madrid midfielder serves as a talent coach at FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark at the moment, where he uses his experience to mentor young players.
Essien will soon join former team-mates such as Frank Lampard to go into management after a playing career. The Ghanaian enjoyed spells at Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC Milan during his playing career.
