Oscar Piastri has beaten Max Verstappen to win the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Sunday in Jeddah for his third race victory of the 2025 Formula One season.

McLaren F1’s Australian driver was the beneficiary of a penalty call to Red Bull Racing’s Verstappen, taking full advantage to win his second race in a week following victory in Bahrain.

Four-time world champion Verstappen was given a five-second penalty for illegally keeping the lead from Piastri by going off the track at the first corner but had more than enough pace to keep second place.

The win sees Piastri take the lead on the drivers’ championship standings, 10 points clear ahead of teammate Lando Norris missed out on a podium finish in Jeddah as he settled for fourth place.

Norris recovered from a 10th place start on the grid after his crash in qualifying to finish fourth behind Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, and ahead of Mercedes duo, George Russell and Kim Antonelli, while Lewis Hamilton finished seventh.

The top 10 was completed by Carlos Sainz of Williams, followed by teammate Alex Albon, while Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar got a point in the championship for his 10th place finish.
