Spanish striker, Marc Guiu, hit a hat-trick as Chelsea made it six wins from six matches in the UEFA Europa Conference League at the expense of Irish side, Shamrock Rovers, at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
The teenage sensation put the Blues ahead midway though the first half after intercepting a poor pass out from the Rovers goalkeeper.
That lead lasted only four minutes as Markus Poom levelled proceedings for the visitors, only for Guiu to pick the Rovers keeper’s pocket again to restore Chelsea’s lead after 34 minutes.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall then gave Enzo Maresca’s side a two-goal cushion five minutes before the break, while Guiu went on to complete his hat-trick in first-half stoppage time and effectively end the tie as a contest.
Marc Cucurella put the icing on the cake for Chelsea just before the hour mark to seal the 5-1 win for the Blues, who are now one of only two teams still unbeaten in the competition.
The other team, Vitoria, played out a 1-1 draw at home to third-placed Fiorentina to remain second with 14 points after six matches in the UECL, four points behind Chelsea.
Elsewhere, Rapid Wien moved up to fourth on the table, behind Fiorentina on goal difference, thanks to a 3-0 win over FC Copenhagen, while Cercle Brugge forced a 1-1 draw at home to Istanbul Basaksehir.
Djurgaarden overcame Legia Warsaw in a 3-1 win, Panathinaikos cruised to a 4-0 demolition of Dinamo Minsk, Real Betis edged HJK by a lone goal, and Molde came from behind twice to seal a dramatic 4-3 win over Mlada Boleslav.
