Sporting Director, Dan Ashworth, has parted company with Manchester United just hours after the club suffered a 3-2 loss to Nottingham Forest in front of home fans at Old Trafford.
“Dan Ashworth will be leaving his role as Sporting Director by mutual agreement,” Manchester United revealed in a statement on Sunday.
The statement continues, “We would like to thank Dan for his work and support during a transitional period for the club and wish him well for the future.”
Ashworth only arrived at the Red Devils five months ago from Premier League rivals, Newcastle United, following a battle between both clubs to have him, with Newcastle eventually accepting his exit at the start of this season.
But a few changes have happened since then, top of which is Erik Ten Hag leaving his role as the first team manager following a poor start to the season.
Ten Hag has been replaced by Ruben Amorim, who enjoyed a three-game unbeaten start to work at the club before suffering back-to-back losses in the Premier League to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
