Manchester United Confirm Amorim Appointment, Reveal When He’ll Start Work

Ruben Amorim’s appointment as Manchester United Head Coach has been confirmed in a statement by the club on Friday, with the Sporting Lisbon man set to begin work at Old Trafford soon.

Amorim’s arrival comes following the sack of Erik Ten Hag on the back of a poor start to the season which has seen the Red Devils lose four times in the league to find themselves in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Manchester United’s campaign in Europe has also been far from savoury so far, with the club only managing three draws in three games of the new-format Europa League.

But with Amorim set to start work when the next international break begins November 11, it is hoped he will turn the club’s fortunes around in the rest of the season.

Until then, Ruud van Nistelrooy will remain as interim manager. Van Nistelrooy is preparing the team for the crunch clash with Chelsea at home in the Premier League on Sunday, having guided the club to the EFL quarter-final stage with a 5-2 win over Leicester City in midweek.
