Scouts from Manchester United were in attendance as FC Porto beat Boavista 4-0 in a Primeiro Liga fixture at the Estadio do Dragao, as the club makes plans ahead of an anticipated busy January transfer window.

The Red Devils, sitting in 14th on the Premier League standings, have suffered five defeats in 10 games since the arrival of new boss, Ruben Amorim, with several areas of the team in dire need of strengthening.

According to reports, areas the club intend to strengthen are in the defence and in midfield – both termed top priorities entering the new year.

The club has long used the Portuguese market to find talent to improve its squad, and scouts have attended games involving Porto and Benfica with the hope of achieving that soon.
