Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Issues Update on Injury Crisis Ahead of Ipswich Clash

Ruben Amorim has revealed that no injured players will be returning to the Manchester United first-team squad in time for their Premier League fixture against Ipswich Town on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils welcome the relegation-threatened Tractor Boys to Old Trafford in midweek, as they eye all three points on offer but would do so without eight injured squad members.

“I think it’s the same. Nobody is recovering for this game. They are improving,” Amorim confirmed when quizzed about an update on his team’s fitness.

The development means United will be without the midfield pair of Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer, who are expected to be the first players currently sidelined to return to full fitness.

Defender Lisandro Martinez and forward Amad Diallo are out for the rest of the season, while Luke Shaw remains sidelined with a calf injury.

Hamstring and lower back injuries are keeping Mason Mount and Jonny Evans out, while back-up goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is also unavailable after missing the FA Cup tie against Leicester City with a knock.

United, who earned a 2-2 draw at Everton last time out, are favourites to get a result against Ipswich Town, whom they drew 1-1 with in the reverse fixture in what was Amorim’s first match in charge.
