Argentina striker and 2022 World Cup winner Julian Alvarez is now on the edge of sealing a move away from the Etihad Stadium following reports that Manchester City have reached a total agreement for his exit.
Alvarez is close to sealing a move to Spanish La Liga side, Atlético Madrid, after a €95 million deal including add-ons was agreed with the Premier League champions according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
The 24-year-old, part of Argentina’s Copa America winning squad, has struggled for a regular place in the City starting line-up owing to Erling Haaland who has been prolific for the Cityzens.
The Argentina international joined Manchester City in 2022 for a reported fee of £14 million, making this potential sale a significant profit for the English club.
All that’s left is for Alvarez to now agree on personal terms with the La Liga club before completing a move later this week.
