Premier League champions Manchester City are making moves in the transfer market to boost their chances of still ending this season on a successful note after completing the signing of Vitor Reis on Tuesday.

Reis arrives at the Etihad a day after Uzbekistan defender, Abdulkodir Khusanov, was unveiled by the Cityzens following his transfer from Ligue 1 side, RC Lens on a four-and-a-half-year deal, keeping him at City until the summer of 2029.

The 19-year-old Brazilian has also joined a deal to be with City until the summer of 2029, costing Pep Guardiola’s side £29.6 million to end an eight-year spell with boyhood club and Brazilian Serie A giants Palmeiras.

“I’m excited to join Manchester City, one of the biggest clubs in the world,“ Reis said. “Everyone has seen the amazing achievements in recent seasons, and I want to make my mark as we seek more trophies.“

He added, “Working with Pep Guardiola is something every young player wants to do, and I know he can help me to develop into the best player I can be.“

On his part, Txiki Begiristain said, “Vitor Reis is one of the most promising young defenders in the world and we’re delighted to been able to bring him here.“

With Reis and Khusanov now at the Etihad, City is expected to unveil Egyptian forward, Omar Marmoush, in the coming days after a deal for his transfer was reached after he gave a heartfelt farewell to fans of Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend.
