The new star in Los Angeles, Luka Doncic, was in the stands to watch LeBron James and the Lakers put up a ruthless display against city rivals, LA Clippers, on their way to a 122-97 demolition job at the Intuit Dome on Tuesday night.

Luka Doncic has been out with a calf injury since Christmas and according to reports, the new Lakers star could have returned to action a week ago but has chosen to take his time to fully recover from an injury he’s suffered for the fourth time in his career.

Following the trade to the Lakers, Doncic has been working out and will take part in his first full training on Wednesday in view of a possible debut against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night – a week after news of the trade first broke.

It is reported that Doncic was initially shocked by the trade, before settling into the reality of the opportunity that comes with playing for the Lakers.

Doncic is said to be eager to start playing for the Lakers and be on the court alongside LeBron James, who is one of the 25-year-old’s idols in the sport.

Before then, LeBron posted 26 points, nine assists and eight rebounds against the Clippers, with Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura getting 20 points each as the Lakers shot 55.6% from the field and made 18 threes as the Clippers never stood a chance on the night.
