Premier League leaders Liverpool will be without the services of Darwin Nunez for their next top-flight fixture, after the striker was booked against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.
The Uruguayan international picked up his fifth booking of the Premier League season against the Red Devils, after barging into defender Matthijs De Ligt during the second half of the match.
Nunez’s booking in the thrilling 2-2 draw means the forward will not be available for the Reds when they pay Ola Aina’s Nottingham Forest a visit on January 14.
Had Nunez managed to get through the match without picking up a yellow card, he would have had to reach 10 bookings before needing to serve any suspension although at that point, he would have been given a two-match suspension.
