Roy Keane and Gary Neville have admitted that Manchester United defender, Lisandro Martinez, was lucky to get only a yellow card for his rash tackle on Chelsea’s Cole Palmer during the 1-1 draw between both sides at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The pundits were in agreement that Martinez’s tackle was “nasty” and deserving of a straight red card, with Neville stating that the Argentine defender was “lucky” to receive only a yellow card.
Keane added that Palmer had made a “fool” of Martinez, who had committed a “nasty challenge” that could have had serious consequences.
Former Liverpool star, Jamie Redknapp, was also in agreement with Neville and Keane, describing the tackle as “reckless” and “nasty”, adding that Martinez knew exactly what he was doing and had a “nasty streak” in him.
Did you think Martinez should’ve been sent off when he tackled Palmer or was the referee’s decision to only award a yellow card the correct one?
