Seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton, says he has realised his dream at his first official day as a Ferrari driver, linking up with his new team at the Ferrari factory in Maranello on Monday.

The 40-year-old reached an agreement with Ferrari last January before ending the 2024 season with Mercedes and bringing an end to an 11-year partnership with the German team.

“There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days,” Hamilton said to mark his first day with Ferrari. “Part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red. I couldn’t be happier to realise that dream today.”

Hamilton met with Ferrari’s management team before embarking on an immersion programme for the rest of the day as he got to meet the team he will be working with for the foreseeable future.
