Barcelona Femeni have suffered a huge shock in the Spanish women’s top-flight after falling to a 2-1 loss at home to Levante in their league clash on Saturday, bringing an end to the defending champions’ 84-game unbeaten streak.
The Spanish champions came into the fixture having not suffered a single home defeat in 46 consecutive league matches.
Interestingly, the last time the Catalan giants failed to secure all three points at home in Liga F was in February 2024, when Levante held them to a 1-1 draw, ending their 79-game winning streak at the time.
But all that changed as goals from María Alharilla and Ivonne Chacón propelled the visitors to victory, despite a late strike from Fridolina Rolfo.
Barcelona remain top of the league table with 48 points from 17 matches while second-placed Real Madrid are on 40 points, with a game in hand.
