Leicester City Dent Nottingham Forest’s Champions League Ambition

Relegated Leicester City are making sure to go down with some dignity intact after forcing Nottingham Forest to a pulsating 2-2 draw in a Premier League clash at the City Ground on Sunday.

Conor Coady put the Foxes ahead after 16 minutes with his first goal for Leicester and indeed, his first in almost three years after heading in the rebound from a save by Forest keeper Mats Sels who had pushed a powerful effort from El Khannouss to his path.

Morgan Gibbs-White made up for a big miss moments after Coady’s goal by drawing Forest level 10 minutes later, showing up at the near post to head in a free-kick beyond Jakub Stolarczyk’s reach.

Gibbs-White wasted another big chance to score again for Forest 10 minutes into the second half, but soon made amends again as he went from scorer to provider when his defence-splitting pass was met by Chris Wood to score with a diving header for his 20th of this season.

Forest looked set to pick up an important win only for Facundo Buonanotte to stun the City Ground, evading two defenders before sending a deflected effort past Sels to earn Leicester a point and dent Forest’s Champions League ambition.
