Newcastle United manager, Eddie Howe, has revealed that midfielder, Joelinton, is a doubt for Wednesday night’s League Cup (Carabao Cup) semi-final second-leg clash against Arsenal.
The Magpies welcome Mikel Arteta’s men to St James’ Park in midweek and hold a 2-0 advantage from the first leg played at the Emirates last month.
However, Howe faces a late decision over Joelinton, who emerged from the defeat to Fulham in the Premier League last weekend wearing a brace on his right knee.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the semi-final, Howe said: “We’ll assess how he is for this game. I’d say he’s a doubt, but we’ll give him every minute we can to try to make him fit.”
Despite Joelinton’s injury fears, Howe could have striker Callum Wilson available for the fixture after a 12-game absence.
