Defending WNBA champions, Las Vegas Aces, have pushed the semi-final of the playoff series against New York Liberty to Game 4 after claiming a dominant 95-81 win in Game 3 at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Vegas.

Staring at elimination when the repeat of last season’s WNBA finals tipped off for Game 3, the Aces edged a keenly contested first half 52-49 as they went about getting back in the series.

It was in the third quarter the tie effectively ended as a contest following a ruthless masterclass from the Aces that saw them limit the Liberty to only six points. This allowed the Aces to start the final quarter with an 18-point lead and see out the win.

Jackie Young led scoring in the game with 24 points, 2024 MVP winner, A’ja Wilson, chipped in 19 points and 14 rebounds, while Sixth Woman of the Year, Tiffany Hayes, got 11 points, two assists and three rebounds in 16 minutes on the court.

Both teams will be back at it for Game 4 in Vegas on Sunday with Liberty leading the series 2-1 and one win away from another finals appearance.
