Barcelona have suffered a dent in their 125th anniversary celebrations after falling to a shock 2-1 loss to Las Palmas in a La Liga match at the Olympic Stadium on Saturday.
Following a goalless first half, the visitors silenced the home crowd after taking the lead through Sandro just four minutes into the second half.
Raphinha got Hansi Flick’s team back on level terms with a goal in the 61st minute, but parity was short-lived as Las Palmas regained the lead six minutes later through Fabio Silva.
Despite Barcelona attempting 27 shots, enjoying 77% of possession and completing over 300 more passes than their visitors, Las Palmas held on to claim a shock victory.
The result sends Las Palmas five points clear of the relegation zone at the moment, while Barcelona will remain top of the league but could see their lead cut to one point if Real Madrid win on Sunday at home to Getafe.
