Barcelona star Lamine Yamal is set to get a massive pay rise after reaching an agreement with the La Liga club, with the new deal set to be activated when the Spain international turns 18 years old this July.
Yamal has starred for the Catalan outfit this season as they battle to complete the treble, first aiming to get past Inter Milan to reach the Champions League final followed by a potential title decider in this weekend’s El Clasico against Real Madrid.
The teenage sensation’s new deal will have him at Barcelona until 2030, having made his debut for the Blaugrana in 2023 at the age of 15 and has already crossed the 100-game mark with the club.
Yamal’s current deal includes a clause to extend his stay until 2028, but this new deal will recognise his status as one of the key players in the dressing room according to reports.
It will also include an unspecified release clause – thought to be €1 billion as is the habit of Barcelona when making deals with their major players.
