Spain have come through a six-goal thriller against the Netherlands to reach the UEFA Nations League semis via penalties after a 3-3 draw in the second leg match on Sunday night.

The European champions took the lead twice in regulation time courtesy of goals from Mikel Oyarzabal, but Memphis Depay’s penalty nine minutes into the second half and an effort from debutant Ian Maatsen forced extra-time.

Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal put Spain in front once more 13 minutes into extra-time, but Xavi Simons levelled via a penalty to send the tie to spot-kicks.

Dutch forward Noa Lang and Spain’s Lamine Yamal both missed in the shootout before Spanish goalkeeper Unai Simon kept out Donyell Malen’s effort to give Pedri the chance to clinch a last-four spot for the reigning holders.
