Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) giants Kano Pillars have officially terminated the contract of Paul Offor just 19 days after his appointment to the role.
The 35-year-old former Sporting Lagos boss was appointed to lead the Kano-based side earlier in July 2024 under a two-year contract signed by the former board. Offor replaced Abdul Maikaba, hoping to bring a fresh approach to the team.
However, in a statement released by the Kano Pillars, club chairman Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar expressed his gratitude for Offor’s positive attitude during the discussions leading up to his departure.
“I want to express my appreciation for Paul Offor’s cooperation and positive attitude throughout his stay at the club and during the discussions leading to this mutual decision,” Umar said in the statement.
The club chairman added, “I also want to commend him for his great sense of humour, which contributed to a smooth and respectful process. The management and entire Kano Pillars FC family wish him success in his future endeavours.”
Despite the early termination of his contract, Offor’s short tenure was marked by a sense of professionalism and dedication. The chairman emphasised that the decision was taken in the best interest of the club as they look to the future.
As Kano Pillars embark on a search for a new Technical Adviser, the club aims to find a leader who can guide the team through the upcoming season. The management is committed to ensuring that the new appointment will bring stability and renewed vigour to the squad.
