Harry Kane got a goal again as Bayern Munich secured a 2-0 win over Victor Boniface’s Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena on Tuesday night, and book a spot in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final with a 5-0 aggregate victory.
The English forward scored twice in the first leg last week and after a goalless first half in the second leg, proved inevitable as he found the breakthrough for the Bavarians around the hour mark to make Leverkusen’s task of overturning the deficit even more daunting.
Alphonso Davies made sure of qualification with 20 minutes to go as Bayern eased past the team they look set to dethrone as Bundesliga champions, as they continue their march towards playing for the Champions League title in front of home fans at the Allianz Arena where the final will be played in May.
Elsewhere in the Champions League on Tuesday night, Raphina scored twice while Lamine Yamal got a goal as Barcelona claimed a 3-1 win over Benfica in Spain to complete a 4-1 aggregate victory. Yamal became the youngest player in UCL history to record a goal and assist during the match.
In Italy, Inter Milan also went through thanks to a 4-1 aggregate win after defeating Feyenoord 2-1 in the second leg of their tie at the San Siro.
