Fenerbahce boss, Jose Mourinho, has been slammed with a suspension that will see him miss a handful of the club’s next games following his clash with his Galatasaray rival, Okan Buruk, in the Turkish Cup in midweek.

Mourinho saw Victor Osimhen score twice to inflict a 2-1 loss in front of home fans and send his team crash out of the competition, with the Portuguese tactician seen pinching Buruk’s nose as both teams needed to be separated at the end of the heated match in Istanbul.

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) have revealed in a statement that they have issued Mourinho a three-game suspension and fined him £6,000 ($7,700) for the incident on Wednesday.

“Mourinho shall be banned from entering the dressing room and the bench for three official matches, due to his unsportsmanlike conduct towards an opponent,” the TFF wrote.

The Fenerbahce boss will miss the club’s upcoming matches against Trabzonspor, Sivasspor and Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig – with Fener in second place, six points behind Galatasaray and with a game in hand.

It is not the first time Mourinho’s has found himself in trouble with the TFF, as he previously received a four-game suspension and was fined £32,000 ($42,000) for criticising the match officials when Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray met in February.
