Unlike the Carabao Cup meeting which was a closer contest in midweek, Arsenal cruised to a 5-1 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Gabriel Jesus repaid Mikel Arteta’s faith in handing him a second straight start in a matter of days by scoring two goals in 14 minutes to have the Gunners 2-1 up.
Kai Havertz tapped home from close range to give the Gunners a 3-1 lead at the break, before goals in the second half from Gabriel Martinelli and Declan Rice sealed Arsenal’s biggest league win this season.
The result sends Arsenal back to third on the Premier League table with 33 points, a point behind second placed Chelsea that play at Everton on Sunday.
