Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been handed a warning by the NBA with no further penalties following an investigation launched to look into gun gestures made during the match against Golden State Warriors.

Morant was issued a warning along with Warriors’ Buddy Hield, with both teams also getting warnings, after the NBA determined the gestures during Tuesday night’s match were not intended to be violent although they were deemed inappropriate and should not be repeated.

The investigation brings up Morant’s previous run-in with the league for similar incident – the Grizzlies man brandished a gun during a live session on Instagram in March 2023, leading to an eight-game suspension.

Another incident saw Morant get suspended for 25 games by the NBA for the start of the 2023-24 season after a video of him posing with a gun surfaced online.
