Fulham attacking midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has become the Nigerian with the second most appearances in the Premier League, ahead of Arsenal icon, Nwankwo Kanu, after his starring game at West Ham United.

Iwobi, who is also the most capped player in the present Super Eagles squad, made his 274th Premier League appearance and ended up with two goals to his name in a 3-2 defeat at the Hammers.

Shola Ameobi leads the list of Nigerians with most appearances in the Premier League having played 292 games for Newcastle United between 2000 and 2014 – as well as one season in the Championship.

Next up for Iwobi, who has become a key player for Marco Silva at Craven Cottage, is a trip to face relegation-threatened Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday.
