Just a couple of days after Heartland FC founder, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, died, owner of another Nigerian football club, Ifeanyi Ubah FC, and politician, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, has also passed on.
The 52-year-old another top football executive is reported to have passed in London after slumping. His death comes six months after he declared his intention to run for governor in the 2025 Anambra State gubernatorial election.
Exact details of the cause of death remain sketchy at this time.
Ubah became owner of the football club named after him after completing the takeover of Nnewi based club Gabros International although that ownership is challenged by Chief Gabriel Chukwuma who recently insisted Gabros FC and properties related to the club still belong to him.
“I want to reiterate that Gabros International Football Club, Gabros Stadium and all the empty plots of land there are all mine,” Chief Chukwuma stated in reaction to a social media post. “One cannot buy them with only N100 million  and a promise which has not been fulfilled.”
