Alperen Sengun and Fred VanVleet have inspired the Houston Rockets to a 115-107 win over Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of their Western Conference first round battle at Chase Center to force a Game 7 between both teams in the NBA Playoffs.
Trailing 3-1 in the series heading to Game 6 in San Francisco, VanVleet hit 29 points while Sengun posted 21 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double as the Rockets held off the Warriors for the first three quarters before seizing control of the match in the final quarter to win and level the series.
The Warriors looked set to take control of the match after making seven three-pointers and shooting 50% from the field to trail by just two points at the end of the third, only for Steve Kerr’s team to miss 13 consecutive shots in the fourth as the Rockets eased to the win.
Steph Curry led the Warriors with 29 points, including six made threes, while Jimmy Butler III added 27 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in a valiant effort for the Dubs, who must now beat the Rockets at the Toyota Arena to avoid elimination from this season’s playoffs.
