Thomas Muller has been given a fitting farewell in his last season with Bayern Munich as the German champions celebrated winning the Bundesliga title with a 2-0 win over Borrusia Monchengladbach at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.
Muller will leave the club at the end of the season after 25 years at the club – 17 of those years being with the first team. He made 750 appearances in all competitions for Bayern, scoring 248 goals on the way to 13 league titles, six DFB Pokal wins and two Champions League titles
Harry Kane, who was the embodiment of joy as he lifted a first league title in his career, opened the scoring for Vincent Kompany’s side just past the half-hour mark, before Michael Olise sealed the win in the 90th minute.
The goal is Kane’s 25th in the league this season, putting him six goals clear of nearest challengers Patrik Schick of Bayer Leverkusen and Serhou Guirassy of Borussia Dortmund – though they have two games to play compared to Kane with one game left to play.
It was also a send-off for Eric Dier as he played his last home game with Bayern before his loan spell from Europa League finalists, Tottenham Hotspur, comes to an end.
