Haliburton Gives Indiana Pacers Dramatic Game 2 Road Win at Cleveland Cavaliers

Tyrese Haliburton left jaws on the floor at the arena after rebounding his own missed free-throw and proceeding to make the three with two seconds left on the clock to give Indiana Pacers a dramatic comeback 120-119 win over Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of their NBA Playoffs semi-final series.

The Cavs were set to even the series when Donovan Mitchell made two free-throws to go for 48 points in the game and have the hosts seven points ahead with 57 seconds to go, but the Pacers had other ideas as they went on an 8-0 run to go 2-0 up in the series.

Aaron Nesmith and Pascal Siakam made it a one-possession game, and Andrew Nembhard stole the subsequent inbounds pass from Max Strus. Haliburton then won a foul with 12.4 seconds left and made his first free throw to bring Pacers within two points at 119-117.

Haliburton went on to miss the second free-throw, grabbed the rebound, dribbled beyond the arc before calming draining the three-pointer to complete Indiana’s remarkable comeback from 20 points down.

It’s the first time the Cavs have lost the first two games of a playoff series at home in 29 years, while Pacers have now won two playoff games while trailing by seven with less than a minute to go in two weeks, with Haliburton also getting the winning bucket in the previous instance against Milwaukee Bucks.
