Pep Guardiola’s risk to experiment with his line-up backfired in Tottenham Hotspur’s favour as the London side, who were without Heung-min Son, beat Manchester City 2-1 to advance in the Carabao Cup.

Unlike Guardiola, who rested the likes of Erling Haaland, Bernado Silva, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic and Ederson, Ange Postecoglu started a relatively strong team at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the Cup clash.
