Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has reacted to the Liverpool fans chanting for his dismissal during their team’s defeat to the Reds in a Premier League clash at Anfield on Sunday.
As Liverpool appeared to edge closer to victory in the final minutes of the game, chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning” rang out from the stands at Anfield, directed at the City boss. Guardiola.
Unphased by the taunts, Guardiola responded by holding up one hand and a single finger to indicate the number of Premier League titles City have won under his stewardship.
Speaking after the match, Guardiola admitted he did not expect the jeers from Liverpool supporters. “I didn’t expect that at Anfield,” he said.
The Man. City boss added, “I didn’t expect it from the people from Liverpool, but it’s fine. It’s part of the game, and I completely understand. We’ve had incredible battles together, and I have a lot of respect for them.”
