Reigning Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova will miss the Australian Open as she continues to recover from a back injury.
The world number 10 stated that her back injury has yet to heal fully since the end of last season, prompting her to make the tough decision of missing the first grand slam of 2025.
“Unfortunately, my back injury, which troubled me at the end of last season, is still not fully healed,” Krejcikova said in the statement.
She added, “It’s really disappointing because I love playing in Melbourne and have such great memories from reaching the quarter-finals last year.”
