Gernot Rohr Reveals Reason Super Eagles Lost to Rwanda in AFCON Qualifier

Former Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, believes that booking qualification to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) ahead of the clash with Rwanda led to a reduction in intensity by the Nigerian team.

Rohr, whose Benin Republic side needed Nigeria to avoid defeat to ease their passage to Morocco 2025, played out a goalless draw with Libya to render Rwanda’s 2-1 win over Nigeria inconsequential.

“In the match against Nigeria, we were under pressure but managed to equalize just minutes before the end,” the German said after the match against the Mediterranean Knights.

Rohr went on to say, “Having coached this team, I’ve noticed they sometimes relax when they feel secure in their qualification.”

Do you agree with Rohr’s comments about the Super Eagles?
