Brazil defender, Gabriel, has put pen to a contract extension at Arsenal on Friday, with the 27-year-old committing his future to the Gunners as he recovers from an injury that has left him on the sidelines until the start of the 2025-26 season.

Gabriel, who has signed a four-year extension, has been a mainstay of Arsenal’s defence which has conceded the fewest goals in the last two Premier League seasons. The Brazil international is also the highest scoring central defender in the league since he joined from Lille in 2020.

“I arrived here as a young player and after almost five years I’m so happy and I’ve learned a lot. I’m so proud of myself, it’s an amazing journey, and I’m so happy to continue it,“ Gabriel said. “I hope I win some trophies with this club, because I love this club and my family loves the club, too.“

He added, “Arsenal is an amazing club and I’m so proud to sign a new contract. I love this club, I love the supporters, my teammates, I love this stadium. I’m so proud and thank you for all the support. We continue together for the future.”

The new deal will see Gabriel at Arsenal until June 2029. Gabriel has played 210 games for the Gunners and scored 20 goals in all competitions.
