Jobe Bellingham has sealed a move from newly promoted Sunderland to Champions League campaigners, Borussia Dortmund, with the move completed in time for the England youth international to feature with his brother, Jude, at the FIFA Club World Cup, this month.

Dortmund confirmed the move for younger Bellingham on Tuesday, with the 19-year-old putting pen to a five-year deal with the Bundesliga side after a transfer close to £32m was agreed between the German and Sunderland.

The Black Cats on their part revealed they have received a club record fee for Bellingham, whom they signed for just £1.5m from Birmingham City in 2023, and has now followed the footsteps of Jude, who joined Dortmund from Birmingham before moving on to Real Madrid.

Interestingly, both brothers will be in the United States for their respective clubs. “Welcome to Dortmund, Jobe! The 19-year-old England Under-21 international joins on a five-year deal and will wear No 77 at the Fifa Club World Cup,” Dortmund wrote in a statement.

“I’m very happy to be a Borussia Dortmund player now and to fight for titles together with this great club,“ Bellingham said. “I want to play my part in celebrating success with these great fans here and will work on myself and with the team every day.“
